Woke up to thunder and lightning

The sound of thunder and lightning woke us up this morning about 5:30. We got up at 6:00 because the thunder was so loud we couldn't get back to sleep. It stormed a good part of this morning.

By 10:00 the storm had passed and the 3 of us (Mike, Tinker and I) took about a 2-hour nap.

By lunch time the rain was over and the sun was out, so Mike grilled some sausages and we had sausage sandwiches and potato salad.

After lunch I walked over to the laundry near us and washed clothes. There are 2 washers and 2 dryers there and I had 3 loads, but I was the only one this afternoon using them. The machines cost $1.25 a load - not a bad price.

We watched the NASCAR race from Talladega this afternoon on TV and I worked on genealogy between laundry loads.

Then around 5:30 we noticed the dark clouds were moving in and the wind picked up, but this time the rain storm didn't last very long.

Tomorrow we are leaving here and going over to our friends' house near Collinsville. We haven't seen Symphony and Al since October 2009 and we're looking forward to seeing them.
