We had an early lunch and then drove about 9 miles into Rome to go to the Rome-Floyd County Library. We did take a small detour before going directly to the Library and drove down Broad Street to look at the downtown area.
One of our first sights was the impressive Gothic Revival 1877 Cherokee Masonic Lodge

before continuing on down Broad Street and the businesses there.

We then drove on over to the Library where I wanted to do some genealogical research on Mike's Ashby and Woodruff ancestors. After locating the local history room and unpacking the laptop, Mike went over to the magazine section to read while I did my research.
After searching through several books on Floyd County and a couple of microfilms of indexes of land sales, I didn't really discover any new information on the Ashby's and Woodruff's. I did make copies of some information I found that may turn out to be related to Mike's ancestors, but I'll have to do more research to see if there is any relationship to Mike.
After leaving the library, we drove over to Lowe's and got a couple of things we needed and then stopped at Sam's to do some shopping before going back to the campground.
After dinner we decided to watch Avatar, we had gone to see it when it came out in 2010 and watched it in 3-D. We enjoyed watching it again even if it was on a 27-inch screen and not in 3-D.
It started raining here a little while ago and sounds like it is set in for the night.
