Trip to Guntersville

Mike took a couple of photos last night of our motor home with the moon overhead.

We got up this morning at 7:00 and I took Tinker over to the dog walk. After taking Tinker back to the RV, I went back with the camera to take photos of this family of geese. I counted all of the goslings and there were 30 - I wasn't able to get a photo of all of them.

Then at 8:00 Mike and I walked over to the Cafe here in the campground to have breakfast
and there was already a line waiting at the walkway to the Cafe.

We both ordered the Big Breakfast Platter for $5.50 - scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, grits, gravy, biscuit and a small drink. Mike also got an order of 3 pancakes for $1.50. It was a very good breakfast and the price was right.

After breakfast we walked back to the motor home and then drove over to Guntersville to do some genealogy research at the Guntersville Public Library. When we got to the Library we found out that the building was temporarily closed and that the Library was housed in another location.

We drove over to The Glover where the library is temporarily housed just on the off-chance I could do some research. Unfortunately, all of the local history records weren't available there. The ladies at the library said if I wrote to them, they would be happy to look up any records for me once they were back in the Library building later this month.

We drove around Guntersville a little bit before heading over to the Wal-Mart Supercenter to do some shopping. While we were at Wal-Mart we got gas in the Vue ($3.659 a gal).

The highway down from the campground to Guntersville goes through Guntersville State Park and it's mostly a winding tree-covered 2-lane road.
