Visiting with Matt & Merilee

We've spent the last couple of days visiting with our friends Matt & Merilee in Meridian, Idaho.

We got here on Thursday afternoon. Matt had smoked a salmon fillet that day because he knew I liked salmon. It tasted so good right after coming out of the smoker and the three of us snacked on it (Mike doesn't eat fish). Matt vacuum sealed the fillet and I have it in the RV freezer to keep until we get home.

For dinner Thursday we had spaghetti with tomatoes and green peppers that Merilee grew in her garden and with hot and mild sausage, garlic bread and coleslaw. Merilee gave us a large bowl of the spaghetti sauce to take with us.

On Friday Mike and Matt went to a shooting range and had a good time, although Matt said that Mike "killed" his target stand. Merilee is finishing her last quarter to earn her degree in Exercise Science and had homework in chemistry and trigonometry. I worked on organizing and editing our photos since leaving Capitol Reef National Park and updated our Photo Albums and blog. For supper Matt grilled elk burgers and we had tator tots and coleslaw with the burgers.

Saturday afternoon Mike and Matt went over to the Nampa Airport to visit the Warhawk Air Museum.

Merilee worked on her homework and I finished working on our photos and the blog. It was really great to have good wifi and not have to wait 2 minutes for each photo to upload to an album.

Saturday night we had boneless short ribs with mashed potatoes, asparagus and tossed salad. Another terrific meal! Then we watched the movie Bird Box with Sandra Bullock - very intense!

Matt & Merilee have 2 Golden Retrievers, Suki & Spenser, and Tinker got along well with them. I'm afraid Tinker got spoiled because he had a huge fenced-in back yard to roam around in!

We had a great visit and promised that we wouldn't let 8 years go by before our next visit with them.

We left Matt & Merilee's house this morning a little before 10:00. It was 48° with a wind chill of 46° and a light rain. We got back on I-84 and headed east. We passed by acres and acres of solar panels east of Boise.

We arrived here at Anderson Camp at Eden, ID at 1:40 and checked in. We are in site #18 which is the same site we were in when we stayed here Wednesday night. It's 41° with a light rain.
