Visiting Canyonlands National Park and Dead Horse Point State Park

We left the campground this morning at 10:00 and drove north of Moab to the entrances to Canyonlands and Dead Horse Point Parks.

The entrance fee for Canyonlands National Park is $30 a car, but with our Senior Pass it was free.

We met Jay and Monique from Alberta and swapped taking photos with them. Monique didn't have any problems with height

and of course, Mike doesn't either.

Jay and I stayed as far back from the edge of the overlook as we could get.

We left Canyonlands National Park about 3:00 and drove to Dead Horse Point State Park. The entry fee for the State Park was $20 a car and a few of the cars in line ahead of us turned around and left when they found out how much the fee was.

The scenery from the Overlook was great. We met a family from Denmark and exchanged
taking photos with them. When we told them we were from Florida, they asked us some questions about Florida and said that it was on their list of places to visit on one of their next trips to the U.S.

The Overlook path around the Visitor Center was paved and Tinker was able to come with us.

Tinker didn't see the little chipmunk that was on the path in front of us and quickly ran back into the bushes.

By the time we left Dead Horse Point State Park and headed back to Moab, it was after 5:00. We stopped at the City Market grocery store for groceries that we needed. I was happy to find out that my Kroeger rewards card worked after not using it for several years. There were no plastic grocery bags, only paper bags or use your own.

We had a good time today and saw a lot of great scenery. But it was a long day and we all are tired tonight.
