Drive to Great Salt Lake State Park

It was cold this morning when we got up at 7:30. The temperature had  "warmed up" to 41° and the wind chill was 37° when we started to break camp at Anderson Camp in Eden, ID. We left the campground at 9:35 and headed east on I-84.

Tinker sat in my lap for a while this morning and then he wanted to get in Mike's lap which he was used to doing when we had the motorhome. Mike puts Tinker's pillow in his lap for Tinker to sit on and Tinker settled in and took a long nap.

We stopped at a Flying J in Snowville, UT to get gas ($3.169 a gallon) and had hoped to have an early lunch at the restaurant there. But there was no place to park the car and trailer, so we got back on I-84. I checked the Next Exit and there was a Wendy's at Tremonton, UT, so I looked it up on Google Maps on my phone and looked at the satellite view to check on the parking situation there.

We got to the Wendy's at 12:15 and the parking lot was big enough we could park the car and trailer and not take up many car parking spaces. Mike ordered a double Baconator with chili and I had a 4 piece chicken tenders with FF. We fed Tinker his lunch and added a little piece of bacon and chicken from our lunch. We left Wendy's at 12:50 and continued east on I-84.

We ran into rain just north of Salt Lake City and it continued until we arrived here at the Great Salt Lake State Park at 2:30. Mike went into the Visitor Center and checked in and then we went to our campsite. We made our reservation for here back in January and reserved site 2. We have electric and water hook-ups and there is a dump station. We will be here for 4 nights and the fee is $20 a night, so with tax we paid $93 for our stay here.

It was still lightly raining while we set up the trailer and it was 49° and the wind chill was 45°. Yes it was cold and damp
- but it puts a little extra "hustle" in your motivation to get set up and get inside and warm.

We are next to the Salt Lake and there is a marina here, too.

There are 5 RV sites here and there was only 1 fifth wheel here when we arrived. But 3 more RVs have come in since we got here.

We thought that we would be able to pick up the local TV channels from Salt Lake City on our local TV antenna, but I guess the mountains are blocking the signals. So I reinstated our Dish Network which we haven't needed for a few weeks. We were afraid that the mountains would block the satellite signal but we're receiving all of them including the local Salt Lake City TV stations.
