We're Now in Louisiana

We're still adjusting to being in a different time zone, because we both woke up about 6:00 this morning. We tried to get some more sleep, but couldn't so we got up at 6:30. We had breakfast and then started breaking camp and then hitched up the car and trailer. We left Styx River Resort at 8:30. Before getting on to I-10 West, we stopped at Oasis Travel Center to get gas and paid $2.899 a gallon for premium.

We passed by Battleship Row and I was able to get a photo of the USS Alabama.

Then we drove under the Mobile River through the George Wallace Tunnel.

We crossed into Mississippi at 9:45 and then Louisiana at 11:22. We stopped at a RaceTrac at Slidell, LA to get some gas ($2.679 a gallon).

We stopped for lunch at a Wendy's in Covington, LA and then drove over to the nearby WalMart to get a few groceries. I tried to pay with the WalMart Pay app and it wanted me to set up WalMart Pay which I've
already done and been using. I wonder if it was because I was at a different WalMart, or because I wasn't in Florida - I'll have to check on that.

We left WalMart at 1:30 and headed west on I-10. We crossed the Mississippi River at Port Allen at 2:50.

The east bound traffic on I-10 was backed up and the farther west we went on I-10 we kept seeing the eastbound traffic backed up and they were backed up for 10 miles.

We crossed the Atchafalaya River at 3:25

and arrived here at Frenchman's Wilderness Campground at 3:30. This is a Good Sam campground member and we got a 10% discount. So our cost for tonight was $31.08 - the 10% discount offset the 11% tax.

One of the staff rode a golf cart and escorted us to our campsite. We are in site #135 with 30 amp electric, water and sewer hookups and a concrete patio. It is a back-in site and we  had to disconnect the car because we needed to level the trailer.

It's warmer here and we're using the A/C tonight. Until today it's been cool enough to have the windows open during the day and closed at night. We're supposed to have rain tonight and tomorrow. We've hoping it's not raining when we have to break camp in the morning.
