We left Cedar Creek Campground at 10:00 and drove 11 miles south to I-40 and then south on I-24 to I-440 west and then south on I-65. The trees are beginning to get their fall colors and took this photo on I-65.

We crossed the Tennessee state line into Alabama at noon and stopped at the Alabama Welcome Center at Ardmore a couple of minutes later. You can't miss noticing the Welcome Center because of the Saturn 1B rocket at the entrance to the welcome center.

We pulled into the dump station at the welcome center and emptied our holding tanks

We left the Alabama Welcome Center at 12:50 and continued south on I-65 for 14 miles to Athens. We exited I-65 at exit 351 to go to the Wal-Mart Supercenter for groceries. On our way to the Supercenter we passed by these metal lawn ornament sculptures.

We left the Supercenter at 1:40 and drove south on I-65 for 19 miles to the Pilot station near Priceville to get gas in the motor home. We got 58 gallons for $3.439 a gallon and that price was after our $.02 a gallon discount with our Flying J/Pilot loyalty card.
We drove another 26 miles south on I-65 to exit 308 and then west on US-278

We parked the RV just inside the entrance gate and Mike checked in with the work camper, Susan. While we unhitched the car Susan drove out through the campground to check on which sites were open. We met up with Susan and drove over to site #25 in Section A to check out the campsite. Susan told us there were more sites open in Section B, but those sites have 30 amp electric and Section A has 50 amp electric hook-ups.
We drove back to the entrance and told Susan that we would take site #25 in A Section. I drove back over to our campsite and Mike followed in the motor home. We have full hook-ups (50 amp elec) and free wi-fi. Hidden Cove is a member of Thousand Trails and we are paying $3 a day here. We will be here for a week.
However, we do not have cell phone service here. According to Susan, Verizon and Sprint cell phones can't get service out here. Thank goodness for the campground's wi-fi!! I always call my brother on Sunday night, so Mike and I went out to the car and called my brother using the phone with Onstar (we have it as a 3rd phone).
I checked Verizon's coverage map when I went on the internet tonight and it looks like we are about 1/2 mile outside of their cell coverage area.
