Lunch & Genealogy Research in Mt Juliet

It was 57° this morning when we got up. We took Tinker for a walk around the campground this morning

and saw this Great Blue Heron standing on the lake shore.

There is a young family in the campsite across from us and we stopped to ask them about their travel trailer - a 1963 Shasta - really neat looking.

We left the campground at 11:30 and drove 9 miles south to Mount Juliet
for lunch at Five Guys. After lunch we drove to the Mt. Juliet Wilson County Library so I could do some genealogy research.

We found a large table where we could sit and set up our laptops. I took mine so I would have my genealogy records handy and Mike was going to wi-fi with his laptop. Unfortunately there weren't any electrical outlets where we could plug in our laptops, so we had to run on batteries. Mike's laptop battery lasted less than 1 hour, so he spent the rest of the time reading magazines.

The Mount Juliet-West Wilson County Historical Society's genealogical collection is at the Mt. Juliet Library and I found quite a lot of information on my Borum and Alexander ancestors there.

While we were at the library, I checked with the staff there to find out where a laundromat would be. They said that the nearest one was in Hermitage 7 miles west of Mount Juliet.

After leaving the library we drove over to Hermitage to locate the laundromat and to see how much the machines cost. It's a large laundromat and they have a change machine, so getting quarters won't be a problem.

We drove the 8 miles back to the campground and after walking Tinker, we made coffee and sat outside to drink it. The temp was in the 60's but with the breeze coming off of Old Hickory Lake it was quite chilly.

Mike took the photo so the lake would show in the background, but it was so sunny the lake doesn't show up well.
