Goose Point Park

We didn't get up until 9:30 this morning after the long day we had yesterday getting here to Goose Point Park.

This morning I uploaded our photos from yesterday and wrote up yesterday's travels on the blog.

Goose Point Park is a Corps of Engineers campground. We have 50 amp electric and water hookups here. We're paying $12.50 (half price) a day with our Senior Pass and will be here for 4 days. There are a lot of trees and we've tried tuning in our rooftop satellite dish, but no luck. We are able to get 4 local TV stations and one of them is a CBS station.

We are surprised that we have 4G service out here and my photos upload to our albums in no time.

This afternoon after lunch we drove down
to the campsites in Loop B and Loop C that is down by Philpott Lake.

We did see 2 campsites by the lake that the motorhome would fit in.

The dump station is down the hill between Loops B and C and we're trying to figure out how best to get the RV in there. The dump station slopes downhill and we would have to make a sharp turn to get the RV in there. If we were down in Loop C we would enter the dump station from the downhill entrance and not from the uphill entrance from Loop A where we're at.

After we got back to our campsite Mike took photos of our site and some of our neighbors.

Last night Mike met Tony who is a couple of campsites over from us and we went over to visit with them this afternoon. Tony and his wife, Darlene, came to the U.S. from England in 1971 and had sold their home in Wisconsin and just recently bought a home near the Texas Gulf coast.

We had a pleasant visit with Tony and Darlene this afternoon talking about RVing and sharing information on some of the campgrounds that we all had visited. It hardly seemed like any time had gone by, when we realized it was 6:00 and time to think about dinner.

We said goodnight and told Darlene and Tony we would see them tomorrow before they left.
