Some Boy Scouts set up their tents in the group campsite next to us on Monday.

We don't have cell phone service at our campsite, so Tuesday Mike drove over to the Ranger Station and called Stoney Creek Resort to confirm that they accept mail and then he called American Home Base to have our mail sent to Stoney Creek Resort.
Tuesday was warm (mid-80's) but we had thunderstorms that night with heavy rain that
helped to cool things down. We wondered how the Boy Scouts were fairing in their tents that night.
Wednesday was a little cooler (low-80's) and in the morning I drove down to the laundry at the campstore. There are 4 washers ($1.00 a load) and 4 dryers (10 minutes for a quarter), but one of the dryers was out of order. I took a book with me to read while I waited on the laundry to finish.
Mike and Tinker walked down from our campsite to see me while I was doing the laundry. Mike and I went into the campstore separately (dogs aren't allowed) to pick out some souvenirs and postcards and then he and Tinker walked back up the hill to the RV.
We have seen a doe and her fawn here in the campground and Mike was able to get a photo of them Wednesday afternoon.

The Boy Scouts seemed to have made it through the rain Tuesday night, but it rained again early Wednesday evening. The Scouts have been going out everyday on hikes on the trails here at Loft Mountain. After their hike on Wednesday, the Scouts moved to another campsite on the other side of the campground.
Thursday morning this deer was feeding near our RV and I managed to get a photo of him.

We had bought postcards earlier this week at the campstore and we drove down to the campstore Thursday afternoon to put them in the mail drop at the store. The mail goes out on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings at 9:30.
After leaving the store, we drove around the campground and stopped to visit with Andy and Beverly. Andy had stopped by our RV on Monday and asked Mike about our solar panels and they also talked about campground memberships. Mike had promised to give Andy the information about our campground memberships and where we bought had our house batteries in Quartsite and Mike had brought the info with him to give to Andy.
We had a good time sitting and visiting with both Andy and Beverly. They are from central Texas and have been camping for quite a while. Since Andy has recently retired, they are looking to have longer camping trips. They really like Loft Mountain and have been here for a couple of weeks and are thinking about staying for another week.

We had such a good time visiting, that it was 6:30 before we knew it and time to go back to the motor home and fix dinner. We said goodbye to Andy and Beverly and wished them safe travels.
Tomorrow we leave Loft Mountain and head south on the Skyline Drive to Waynesboro.
