We stopped to take a photo of the sign for Goose Point Park since it was too dark when we arrived to get a photo of it then.

Bassett Furniture used to be made. We drove past some of the warehouses that are used to store their furniture inventory.

We then took US-220 BUS north of Martinsville and at 11:40 stopped at a Wendy's in Collinsville for lunch. We found a place to park the RV at Wendy's and went in for lunch. We both ordered the Baconator single meal. Mike got a small chili and I got the FF with our hamburgers.
After lunch we drove east to SR-57 and passed through farmland and tobacco fields. We then north to Chatham and drove down Main Street.

and drove 3 miles north to Lynchburg Preserve which is a Thousand Trails campground. We arrived at the entrance gate at 2:00.

The ranger there checked our reservation and gave us a map of the campground, campground rules, information on local attractions and information on the campground activities. She told us where we could park the RV while we drove around the campground to pick a campsite. We parked the motor home and unhitched the car and spent close to an hour driving through the 3 loops looking at campsites. We picked 2 sites (1 in Loop B and 1 in Loop C) and finally settled on the one in Loop B.
We stopped back by the entrance gate and gave the ranger our registration card with the campsite number that we had chosen. I dropped Mike off at the RV and he followed me to our campsite in Loop B. We are in site B14 and have full hook ups (30 amp elec). It's a gravel site and we ended up having to put the back wheels up on blocks in order to get the motor home level.
After we had set up camp, Mike got out our Dish 500 antenna and set it up. We tried and tried and tried, but couldn't get a good signal. There are a lot of trees around us, but the dish is pointing through a break in the trees and we still aren't getting a signal. We put up the local TV antenna and have 3 channels. Tomorrow we'll try again to tune in satellite TV.
