The entrance gate to the campground was open when we got there at 7:20. We arrived at Camping World a little after 8:30 and unhitched the car. Mike checked in with the service department and one of the techs came out to look at our awning. We were told that they should have the new awning material and roller tube installed by noon. We put Tinker in a
shopping cart and looked around the store in Camping World for a few minutes.
We got Tinker and then drove the 6 miles down to the Cracker Barrel on I-40 for a late breakfast. We left Tinker in the car (locked) with the motor and A/C running while we had breakfast. Mike ordered the Multi-grain Pancake breakfast and hash brown casserole and I had my usual Old Timers breakfast.
It was 10:15 when we left Cracker Barrel and headed back to Camping World. The new awning material and roller tube had been installed and the tech was making adjustments on the awning and finishing up the installation. Our total bill for the material, roller tube, shipping, removal of old awning and installing the new parts was $1032.69. Our insurance will reimburse us $434.62 after deducting our $500 deductible and the 40% depreciation of the awning material from the total bill. If the damage to the awning had occurred after June 17 our decreasing deductible would have started and our deductible would have been $400 instead of $500 - oh well!
We left Camping World at 11:30 and stopped at a Hess gas station nearby and filled up the tank in the motor home ($3.279 a gal) - gas is 20¢ a gallon more here around Raleigh than when we were in Wilmington.
We got back to Rolling View Campground at 12:45. We hooked up the electric, leveled the RV, put the slides out and reconnected the satellite dish. Since we were still full from breakfast, we just had a snack and then Mike hooked up to the water connection.
We hadn't taken any photos of our campsite yet, so Mike took a couple of photos this afternoon after he put out our new awning.
