Genealogy research & a little shopping

I forgot to mention in yesterday's post that we are paying $114.00 (after our Senior Discount) for the 6 days we are here at Rolling View Campground. Our campsite has a 104' long driveway and we have a large gravel patio area with a fire pit set in a concrete base. The site is fairly level and as usual we had to raise the right side more than the left side of the RV and we put out the folding extra step so I can reach the screen door latch.

Tomorrow we are taking the motor home down to the Camping World in Garner to have the new awning fabric and roller tube installed. We have been debating whether to drive the shorter route through Raleigh or to go on I-440 around Raleigh to Camping World.

This afternoon after lunch we took a trial run down through Raleigh to Garner and decided
that that route was definitely out and will take I-440 tomorrow to Camping World.

Mike needed to replace one of our connectors for our house water filters and we stopped at the Lowe's in Garner to get a new connector and got a new filter for our A/C.

We then drove up I-40 to I-440 and took exit 15 to Poole Road and then to the Olivia Raney Local History Library. My Utley ancestors lived here in Wake County in the late 1700's and early-to-mid 1800's. I looked through some Utley Family Files and The Utley Book and found basically the same information I already have on the Utleys. Since we still had to stop at Kroger's before going back to the campground, we left the library a little before 5:00. I will come back on Saturday to do more research.

We made a quick stop at a Kroger's on Creedmoor Road (US 50) to shop and then headed back up to the campground.

We have to be at Camping World tomorrow morning at 8:30 and the gate to the campground opens at 8:00. So we stopped at the campground entrance kiosk before going on to our campsite to see if they could have the gate open by 7:30 when we planned to leave.

It just so happens that one of the campground hosts was in the car behind us at the gate and she said they would be sure to have the gate open for us in the morning.

I forgot to mention that one of the campground workers came by the campsite this morning and wanted to know if we were the ones who had requested some tree branches trimmed. Mike said it wasn't us, but the guy trimmed some of the branches around our RV anyway. Everyone that we have met that works here have been really nice and very helpful.
