We continued south on SR-125 and crossed the Savannah River about 11:30 and entered South Carolina.

State Road 125 was four lane for a good portion of our drive until we got to the Savannah
River Site when it became two lane. The Savannah River Site is a nuclear industrial complex operated by the US Department of Energy near the Savannah River.
We found a pull-off just before we exited the Savannah River Site area and stopped there for lunch at noon.

Shortly after we got back on the road after lunch, we saw a herd of longhorns and I did manage to take a photo of one of them.

and south of Varnville we connected with SR-68 and took it south to I-95. We took I-95 south for about 5 miles to exit 33 and then east on US-17. We turned south at the Best Western to Campground Road and followed it to The Oaks at Point South RV Campground.

We arrived here at the campground at 1:40 and checked in at the office. We unhitched the car and then drove to our campsite - site #81. We have full hook-ups (50 amp elec) and cable TV. We are staying here with our Thousand Trails membership and our annual dues cover our campsite cost here.
We tried tuning in our satellite TV, but there are too many trees in the way. After setting up the RV, Mike and I went back to the office and paid the $16.20 so we could get cable.
I also checked out the laundry that is in the back of the office and they have 3 washers ($1.50) and 4 dryers ($1.25). So tomorrow will be laundry day for me.
We didn't take any photos of our site here, so Mike will take some photos tomorrow. We will be here for 6 days. I had hoped to be able to visit with a high school friend of mine who lives in Beaufort, but we won't be able to get together since she is having surgery done in Savannah this week.
