We left Fishing Creek Campground just before 10:30 and drove east on KY-1248 to KY-914 and then north to Louie B Nunn Cumberland Parkway. We had driven about 18 miles when we crossed into the Central Time Zone. We were driving through farmland and I managed to get a photo of this barn quilt

and then a little later we saw a lot of classic cars and trucks driving east on the Cumberland Parkway and I was able to get a few photos of them.

We were thinking about stopping somewhere around Bowling Green for lunch and saw this sign for
the National Corvette Museum. We had been in Bowling Green in May 2004 to attend a Life on Wheels RV Conference (we didn't have our motor home yet) and had gone to the Corvette Museum. At that time the museum was in the Corvette Plant at Bowling Green and we also toured the plant that day.

I quickly re-programed our Garmin GPS to direct us to the National Corvette Museum.
We parked the RV in the parking lot for RVs at the Corvette Museum and unhitched the car. We had passed a Wendy's close to the museum and we drove over there for lunch. After lunch we drove back to the Corvette Museum and parked the car.

We paid $8 each for senior tickets and entered the museum. One of our first sights was Roy Orbison's Corvette.

We saw exhibits about the early designs of Corvettes,

racing Corvette exhibits, Corvette designs through the years and even concept cars.

We next walked into the Skydome and the Hall of Fame where our first sight was of these two September 11 tribute cars.

There is a special exhibit at the museum through October called "September 11, 2001: A Global Moment" with artifacts from that day.

We had our photos taken and through the magic of computers and photography, we are driving a Corvette

We bought the CD package of photos for $25 for 5 photos and for $1 more had a Remembrance Photo made and we placed it on the Remembrance Fence at the museum. The fence will be sent to New York City and put with other memorials.

There is a Corvette Cafe in the museum and we could have had lunch there instead of Wendy's, but we didn't know about the cafe at the time.

We drove back to where we had parked the RV and hitched up the car.

We had spent 1½ hours at the museum, so it was 1:40 when we left and drove around the north side of Bowling Green to the William H. Natcher Parkway and then north to the Wendell H. Ford Western Kentucky Parkway for 63 miles to Central City and Western KY RV Park.

We arrived at the Western KY RV Park at 2:50 and parked by the office. There was no one at the office, so we picked up a registration form and picked out our campsite. We decided on site B5 and while we were setting up the RV, the campground owner, Mike, came by to introduce himself and to see if we needed any help.
We have full hook-ups with 50 amp electric. This is a Passport America campground, so we are paying ½ of the normal daily rate of $30. We will be here for just 2 nights.
After getting the RV set up Mike and I drove over to the Wal-Mart Supercenter to do some shopping before dinner. We traveled a total of 169 miles today and toured a car museum and shopped at Wal-Mart - we definitely had a full day.
