Last look at our motorhome

We got up this morning at 7:00 and after some coffee we started unloading the RV. We had a queen foam mattress topper (we had thought about leaving it, but Cathie said to take it) that we folded and put in the back of the Vue (we folded down the passenger seat backs). We had our clothes, bed linens, coffee maker, coolers for the few groceries we had in the frig and sodas and bottled water, Tinker's folding crate and his food and bowls. There were also the tools Mike brought in case we would need them on the trip here and of course, the tow bar.

We had the cargo box on the back of the car full and the back of the car was full. Tinker has a place on top of the mattress topper where he has room enough to stretch out, but that is all!

Here is one of the last photos we took of our motorhome before we left PPL.

After we unloaded our belongings from the RV, Mike drove it over to the dump station at PPL and emptied and flushed the holding tanks. He then parked it in one of the RV spots in the front parking lot. We went into the office to turn in our keys and tell them where we had parked the RV. While we were in the store, I bought a 2014 Next Exit book since the one we had was a few years old. Even though we no longer have a RV, the book comes in handy on a road trip. We also asked them where we could get breakfast and they said there was an IHOP a couple of miles away.

We went to the IHOP and left Tinker in the car with the windows cracked since it was cool this morning. We had planned on spending the night here at a Motel 6 and driving to San Antonio tomorrow. But since we were finished so early, we called the Motel 6 and cancelled our reservation for tonight in Houston and changed the reservation in San Antonio to include tonight.

We stopped at Citgo for gas ($3.239 a gal) before driving up to I-10 West to San Antonio. Just east of San Antonio we connected I-35 north and took it up to our motel. We arrived at Motel 6 a little before 3:00 and checked in. We chose Motel 6 because they allow dogs and don't charge any extra fees for pets.

We unpacked the things we would need for our stay here at the motel and have just been relaxing ever since. We fixed sandwiches for supper. We had had such a late breakfast, that we just skipped lunch. We've called our friends Mike and Gayle who are here in San Antonio and are meeting them tomorrow morning for breakfast at the Denney's just a block away from our motel.
