It rained all day while driving
We got to sleep in this morning because Tinker didn't know how light it was outside because of the room darkening curtains in our motel room. It was 41° with a wind chill of 36° this morning. We packed everything back in the car and drove over to Denny's for breakfast.
Denny's was packed! There were a few empty tables, so we didn't have to wait. I ordered the ham and cheese omelet and Mike got pancakes. By the time we finished breakfast, there was a long line of people waiting for tables - we definitely got there at the right time!
It was almost 10:30 by the time we left Denny's and we stopped at the Valero station across the street for gas ($2.089 a gal) before getting back on I-20. We started to get some light rain not too long after we left Bossier City and it soon turned into heavy rain.
We stopped at a Starbuck's at Terrell, TX - Mike got coffee and I had hot tea. We kept driving west on I-20 south of Dallas and it was still raining. We got onto US-377 and took it south to FM-167 and then to Pecan Plantation where Mike's brother lives.
We arrived at their house a little after 3:30 and it was cold. Carole had spaghetti sauce on the stove and it smelled so good.
We had spaghetti, tossed salad and garlic bread for dinner. A good ending for our day of driving in rain. We only drove 260 miles today.
We are under a winter storm watch for tonight and are supposed to have sleet tomorrow.
