Driving to Bossier City, LA

We got up this morning at 7:00 and it was a little warmer than yesterday morning - 42° with a wind chill of 36°. By 8:00 we had loaded the car and said goodbye to Mike and Gayle. We're hoping they can come down to Sebastian later this year for a visit.

We stopped at Hardee's in Ozark for breakfast and then headed north on US-231 to Montgomery to take US-80 west to get on I-20 at the Alabama and Mississippi state lines. Just east of Selma we saw hundreds of
bicyclists riding east on US-80 and I did get a photo of a few of them.

From February 2015

We stopped at the Mississippi Welcome Center on I-20 at 12:30 to get a state map. We stopped at a Pilot station at Meridian, MS to get gas ($2.099 a gal).

Our next stop was at the Louisiana Welcome Center at 4:35 to get a LA map.

We arrived at the La Quinta in Bossier City, LA at 6:00. Mike went in to check-in and get our room key. Another couple were asking about a room and they said everything was filled up - it's a good thing we made our reservation a few weeks ago.

Before going to our room, we drove over to the Denny's which was a block away from the motel to have dinner. Mike ordered the Philly Cheesesteak Omelet and I had the Philly Prime Melt sandwich.

We got back over to the motel about 7:00 and then unloaded the car. We are tired - we drove 556 miles today and we are definitely ready for bed. We don't have so far to drive tomorrow.
