Meridian, MS to Ozark, AL

This morning Mike took Tinker out for a walk and got a luggage cart on his way back to our room. He put Tinker on it and took a photo of Tinker riding on the cart.

We checked out of the La Quinta in Meridian, MS at 8:30 and went to the
Waffle House nearby for breakfast. Mike ordered pancakes with sausage and I had pancakes with bacon and coffee. It was 9:15 when we finished breakfast and we stopped to get gas at a Chevron station ($1.899 a gal) before getting back on to I-20.

Just after crossing into Alabama, we got off of I-20 and on to US 80 East and took that over to Montgomery and then US-231 South down to Ozark.

We arrived at Mike and Gayle's house about 2:00. We just spent our time talking and catching up on each other's news. Gayle had made her homemade chicken noodle soup for dinner and it's always good - it's especially good on the nights we've been here when its been cold outside.

Tomorrow we will be back home and as much as we've enjoyed our trip this time, it will be good to be home.

Of course, when we had the motorhome we were ALWAYS home even when traveling. We're still having to adjust to the cost of motel rooms and always having to eat out on our trips - it sure was less expensive traveling in the motorhome for camping fees and meals we could prepare in our own kitchen, but getting 6.5 mpg with the motorhome made the gas price higher than traveling in a car. Both ways of travel have their tradeoffs, it just depends on how you want to travel.
