Picking out new paint colors

Monday we went to Home Depot and bought paint samples of interior paint. When we had lunch at our neighbor's (Lilly & Terry) house last month, we admired the color they had painted the interior of their house. They told us the color was called Cappuccino by Glidden. So we got a couple of sample jars of Cappuccino to test in the different rooms in our house.

We've decided that we're going to paint the living room, dining room, and the family room & kitchen. So on Tuesday we took the sample paint and

painted a small area on the walls of those rooms with the Cappuccino White sample. We also got a sample of Dove White (it has a very slight bluish tint) and painted a small area on the walls of the 3 bedrooms and the front entry. We wanted to see how those colors worked before we committed ourselves and we're pleased with the ones we selected.

Wednesday we had our A/C unit checked and serviced by a contractor from Home Depot. We had noticed that the inside temperature indicated on the thermostat was several degrees different from the temperature showing on our inside thermometers. The technician adjusted the thermostat and showed Mike how to do the adjustment (we didn't have any paperwork on the thermostat). Now our thermostat and inside thermometers are only a degree or two different.

Yesterday was the 4th of July and we just spent a quiet evening at home. Well, fairly quiet since we could hear fireworks going off in the neighborhood. Sebastian has a fireworks display down on the Indian River at Riverview Park that is supposed to be great, but we didn't go - it's been hot all day and we just stayed in.

Today we went back to Home Depot and bought 8 gallons of interior paint, paint rollers and other painting supplies. We took advantage of a paint rebate and will be getting a rebate of $5 for each gallon - we both like rebates!
