There were concrete walls separating the different sections of the parking lot for the post office and they were decorated with metal sculptures showing the history of Alaska.

Our next stop was going to be Wal-Mart Supercenter which is on the northeast side of Fairbanks, but we decided to stop at Sam's Club which is only a few blocks away from Wal-Mart. We bought a few things in Sam's including Tinker's chicken jerky treats and then we got gas ($3.999 gal) at Sam's gas station.
After getting some groceries at Wal-Mart we stopped at a car wash to get the Vue clean from the trip up here from Tok.
This afternoon we started seeing some RVs come in to the campground that had obviously driven on the Top of the World and Taylor highways. How could we tell? The heavy coating of dried mud and dirt on the RVs was a dead giveaway. We had heard the highway south from Chicken was muddy and judging from the mud on the RVs it was QUITE muddy. Thanks goodness we elected to stay on the Alaska Highway!
Tomorrow we're going to the University of Alaska to the Museum of the North that is on the campus.
