Furniture Shopping & House Decorating Notebook

Saturday I took Tinker to Muttlee Crew Pet Care to get his 3-year rabies shot at the mobile vet that was there and it cost $30 for the shot. Tinker isn't due for the rest of his shots until April and by then we will have gotten a vet in Sebastian.

I signed up for Angie's List this week for the Sebastian-Vero Beach area and got a discount for the annual cost by using PayPal ($16 instead of $20).

Sunday we went to Perkins and met my brother and family and our friends Mary and Bill for lunch - which is what we usually do on Sundays. Afterwards we stopped by my brother's house and visited with him, Elaine and my nephew David.

Mike has been checking prices on rental moving trucks for when we go back up to Dothan to get our stuff out of our storage unit. He found out

that if we were members of AARP we would get a nice discount from Budget Truck Rentals. We had let our AARP membership lapse several years ago, so we had to join up again.
Monday we drove over to the Badcock Furniture store in St. Cloud to look at leather sofas. Mike had seen a couple of sofas on Badcock's website and had printed the information on them. We liked both sofas after sitting in them and will look for them in the Vero Beach store next month.

We stopped by Tractor Supply in St. Cloud and bought a receiver tube and ball coupler so we can use our tow bar to tow the car behind the Budget rental truck when we come back from Dothan.

I bought a spiral notebook sometime back and I've divided the pages up and made a section for the rooms in the house. I've printed off the photos we took of furniture at Kaleidoscope Consignment and put them in the notebook along with the prices and measurements. I'm doing that with all of the items we might like for the house. I carry the notebook with me  when we go shopping to refresh our memory on the items we've already seen. I'm also using it to make notes on things we need for the house and decorating ideas.

Wednesday I called FPL (Florida Power & Light) to make arrangements to get the electric service in our name starting on the day we close on the house. Our credit is so good that we don't have to put down a deposit for the electric service. I also called Waste Management who handles the garbage, trash and recycling pickups. We pay for that quarterly and I need to send them a check and they will mail us a sticker to put on our garbage can. They provide 3 bins for the recycling. There were 3 bins at the house when we were there for the inspection.

Yesterday was Valentine's Day and we spent the day at the RV. We did grill a couple of NY strip steaks for dinner and had baked potatoes and salad.

Christine called us earlier this week and gave us the name and phone number of the electrician she uses. Mike called him today and told him that we wanted the 50amp electric box hooked up to the electric supply at the house. It turns out that the electrician, Kelly, lives near our house and will meet with us the week after our closing to see what he will need to connect the electric box.
