Lake City to Silver River State Park

We left Oaks 'N Pines this morning a little after 10:30 and drove south on US-441 to Lake City and then west to I-75. We stopped for lunch at noon at a rest area near Paynes Prairie. At Ocala we took SR-40 east to CR-35 and then south on it to Silver River State Park.

We arrived here at 2 p.m. and after checking in at the Ranger Station we went to our campsite in Sharpes Ferry Camping Area. We are in site #8 and we have 50 amp electric and water hookups. Since we are Florida residents and seniors, we are eligible for the Florida State parks senior discount. We are paying $103.68 (inc tax) for our week's stay here, which is $12.96 a night.

The sites are gravel and we are surrounded by trees. The pull-through is really a long and wide one, so we have plenty of room here. Mike set out our portable satellite dish this afternoon.

There aren't a lot of people here today, but I'm sure by this weekend the park will fill up.
