Travel Trailer Shopping & Buying

Last Sunday we drove over to Kissimmee to visit with my sister-in-law Elaine since we hadn't been over there for a while. Before heading back home, we drove out to Camping World at to look at their RVs. We didn't see any that travel trailers there that we liked. On the way home we stopped at the Dairy Queen at the I-95 Sebastian exit and bought a couple of Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Blizzards for supper.

Last Thursday we drove up to Ocala (169 miles) to Optimum RV to look at the Sonic Travel Trailers by Venture RV. Since it would be lunch time when we got to the dealership, we stopped in Belleview at Zaxby's to have lunch and had their chicken fingers basket with fries.

We got to Optimum RV about noon and told Stephen that we were interested in the Sonic Travel Trailers. We told him we wanted to look at the 2017 200VML model. Stephen took us out on the lot and we looked at some of the models they had there.

Mike had come across the Sonic trailers when he was looking on the internet for something that would meet our criteria for travel and comfort. We had both looked at several floor-plans for the Sonic and had
already decided on which one we like the best and the 200VML was it.

Well, to make a long story or negotiation short, we bought a Sonic travel trailer with tan interior. We didn't like the vent fan in the bathroom, so we're having them install a Fantastic Fan. Then we needed a tow bar, so we bought a Blue Ox tow bar with sway bars and a Prodigy P2 brake control which they will install when we come back to pick up the trailer.

So by the time we got through with the negotiations and paper signing it was about 4:30. We decided to go back home a different route and took FL-40 east through the Ocala National Forest to I-95. Mike and I stopped at the Wendy's in Titusville for dinner. We got home a little after 8 p.m.

We are excited about going back next week to pick up our travel trailer. But as I always said when we had the motor-home, just because you bought an RV doesn't mean you're through shopping and spending money. There are always extras that you need to buy. And of course, some of the items we used with our motor-home won't work with the travel trailer - like the tow bar we used to tow our car behind the motor-home.

We went to Sam's yesterday and bought a 32" Samsung TV for the trailer.
