Getting together with family and friends

Last Saturday Mike's brother Chris and his wife Carole arrived for a few days' visit. They had just been on a cruise to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. We've been talking with them about some of the local restaurants and Chris is intrigued with the restaurant here in Sebastian called Squid Lips.

So Saturday night the four of us went to dinner at Squid Lips.

Chris and Carole ordered the Coconut Shrimp and Fish and Florida Fried Shrimp dinners (which they shared) and Mike had the Grilled Chicken with Black Cherry Glaze dinner and I had the Citrus Salmon dinner. As usual everything was excellent and we all had a good time.

On Sunday morning we went to Mulligan's here in Sebastian for brunch. Chris and Carole ordered the Breakfast Platter and Western Omelet (which they shared), Mike had the Cakes (pancakes) and Eggs and I had the Sunrise Omelet with Hollandaise Sauce.

After brunch we drove up A1A from Wabasso Beach north to Melbourne Beach and then south from Melbourne on US-1 back home. Along the way we stopped at Wabasso Beach to look at the ocean

and then we stopped by our cousin Mary Lynn's lot on the Atlantic Ocean and then showed Chris and Carole Mary Lynn's house in Melbourne.

Yesterday we had our friends from Vero come here for lunch. The girls had all gone to the same high school as Mike, Chris and I in Lake Worth.

We had roast beef, turkey, ham and 3 cheeses for everyone to make sandwiches with. Matt & Christine brought devilled eggs, Mary brought a fruit salad, Carol brought potato salad and Nancy & Ed brought her no bake Key Lime pie and some chocolate covered saltines.

After lunch we sat around and tried to catch up on what we all had been doing since we were in high school. It was interesting to listen to each person tell what they had done and where they had lived before moving to Vero.

Before everyone left to go home, we took a group photo.

Chris and Carole left this morning to head on back home to Texas. We had a great time while they were here. We had hoped to take them sightseeing on Sunday, but since it was Easter the places we wanted to go to were closed. We'll just have to do it the next time they are here.
