Vero Beach Air Show

Today was the first day of the Vero Beach Air Show at the Vero Beach Airport. We loaded up a couple of folding chairs and headed down to the airport. I had bought our tickets a couple of days ago online ($31.96 for both of us), so we wouldn't have to buy our tickets at the gate. We didn't pay the extra fee for VIP parking, so we had about a 2 block walk to the entrance to the airport. The last time there was an air show at Vero Beach was 16 years ago.

After showing our tickets at the entrance and having our hands stamped, we found a good spot to set up our chairs and to wait for the air show to start.

Unfortunately there were no military aircraft displays and the Army's Golden Knights and the Navy's F/A-18 Tactical Demonstration Team were unable to make the show due to the sequestration.

But we saw a lot of great performers doing low-level stunt flying,

to the aerobatics of a sailplane.

These 2 boys were sitting near us with their mothers and the boys kept moving their chairs to get the best view - so cute.

Mike took a lot of photos today and I've put them in our web album Vero Beach Air Show.

We left the air show sometime after 2:00 and decided to go to Applebee's for a late lunch. Today we both ordered the chicken fingers basket instead of the platter because it's a smaller meal.

After leaving Applebee's we drove down to Dan's Fan City to check out their sale on ceiling fans. We bought a ceiling fan to replace the one in our family room since it doesn't circulate the air too well.

We stopped at Sam's Club and WalMart Supercenter to do some shopping before heading back to the house.
