New Patio Table Set, Lunch at Earl's Hideaway & New Kitchen Sink

We've been busy the last couple of weeks. We painted the family room and kitchen. We're glad that we changed the paint color from the Cappuccino to the Dove White for the family room and kitchen. The lighter color really brightened the rooms up.

We decided to replace the kitchen cabinet door knobs. Mike and I have both "caught" our fingers on the door knobs (there wasn't much space between the knobs and the cabinet doors) and since we both have arthritis in our hands, it really hurt! We found some knobs at Lowe's in Vero Beach that would coordinate with the drawer pulls we had in the kitchen. I put on the new knobs and it's great not to have to worry about catching a finger in them.

Earlier this summer we had seen a glass-top patio table and 4 chairs at Home Depot here in Sebastian that we really liked and it went on sale earlier this month. They only had one and it was the floor model and we bought it. Mike called our neighbor Bruce and asked if he could come in his truck and help us get the table and chairs home. We loaded the table and a couple of chairs in Bruce's truck and were able to get 2 chairs in the Vue. After unloading the patio furniture at our house, we went with Bruce and Jane to Earl's Hideaway for lunch. It wasn't very crowded and we had table by the window. Mike and I had cheeseburgers and Bruce and Jane each had the Bratwurst sandwich. The food was good and the view of the river and tropic breeze just made everything better. Earl's is a landmark here in Sebastian since the 1950's.

Today we drove up to Melbourne to do some shopping. We had seen a kitchen sink in a few months ago in Lowe's that we wanted and now that we're ready to buy one, they don't have them in stock in the almond color. Last night I found one in the Lowe's in Melbourne in white and called the store to ask about it. I spoke with David at the store and he said the sink was discounted because the box was torn and beat up, but that the sink was fine. He said he would hold the sink for us and put our name on it.

Since David wasn't going to be at work until this afternoon, we decided to have lunch in Melbourne at Meg O'Malley's before going to Lowe's. Since it was Saturday, Meg O'Malley's was busy, but we didn't have to wait for a table. Mike & I ordered the Reuben and it was just as good as the last time we ate there. I've been eating Reuben sandwiches for 30 years since I had my first one at Mrs. Boomer's in Dothan and Mike just tried his first one a couple of years ago. He was surprised to find out how good they are (some are better than others).

Then we drove over to Lowe's and looked at the sink David was holding for us. The sink wasn't damaged despite the fact that the box was ripped. David gave us a great discount and after our 10% retired military discount the price was even better.

While we were in Melbourne we stopped by Northern Tool to look around before heading back home. Mike had been looking for a chain saw and found one at Northern Tool that he liked.
