Dothan to Kissimmee

We got up at 7:00 this morning and started breaking camp right after breakfast. Glenda came by to say goodbye before she left to go to church. Jimmy also came over to see us before we left. We paid W.T. for the electricity for this week ($25.20) and after saying goodbye to W.T. and Jimmy, we left The Willows at 9:00 (CST).

Mike drove the RV down to Tractor Supply to get propane and I stopped at Publix to do some last minute shopping. We had planned on filling our propane tanks at Tractor Supply since they were charging $2.29 a gallon for propane, but the employee there hadn't been certified to fill propane tanks on a RV. We had to stop at the Flying J in Dothan and got the propane there and paid $2.999 a gallon.

We left the Flying J at 10:30 and drove south on US-231. We passed by the Peanut Festival Fairgrounds and I took a photo of some of the rides there - yesterday was the last day for the Peanut Festival.

We crossed into Florida

From November 2012

and stopped at the Florida Welcome Center for about 15 minutes. While Mike did his walk-around, I went into the Welcome Center and picked up a Florida road map. We continued south on US-231 to I-10 and then headed east on I-10. We stopped at a rest area about 30 miles east of Tallahassee for lunch a little before 2:00 (EST).

After lunch we continued east to I-75 and took I-75 south to Wildwood. We stopped at 5:15 at the TA Travel Center at Wildwood where we met Jimmy's mother, Carol, and gave her 2 paintings that Jimmy wanted her to have. We had hoped to get gas at the TA Travel Center, but we went across the street to the Pilot station which was easier to get in and out of with the motorhome. We paid $3.309 a gallon for gas at the Pilot.

We took I-75 south for 2 miles to the Florida Turnpike. We drove south on the Turnpike for 50 miles to I-4. Our toll for the Turnpike was $11.75. We drove west on I-4 to Exit 58 and drove east on CR-532. Just a mile east of the I-4 exit, we stopped at a Subway next to Publix and parked the motorhome in the Publix parking lot. We walked over to the Subway and got a foot-long sub and took it back to the RV to eat.

We left the Subway at 7:30 and headed east on S. Orange Blossom Trail to the 7-Eleven at the intersection of Orange Blossom Trail and S. Poinciana Blvd. We topped off the gas tank in the motorhome at the 7-Eleven ($3.199 a gal). We then drove north on S. Poinciana Blvd. to my brother's property where we stay when we're in Kissimmee. We arrived here at 8:00 and parked the motorhome.

We parked in front of the church building and leveled the RV and put out the slides. We'll be dry camping for a couple of days until Mike connects our electric box to the church's electric service and then we can park the motorhome alongside the church building.
