We've just been relaxing and watching the boats traveling on the Caloosahatchee River and Canal and going through the Locks.
Mike even made a couple of movies of boats going through the Locks.
The canal is a part of the 152 mile Okeechobee waterway that goes between the Gulf of Mexico and the
Atlantic Ocean. We are located about 15 miles west of Lake Okeechobee. Ortona South Campground is an Army Corps of Engineers facility. The regular camping fee is $30 a night, but with our Senior Pass (formerly Golden Age Passport) we are paying $15 a night to stay here.
